Black Friday 2026 for small businesses: a guide to preparing your campaign

Black Friday 2026 falls on 27 November. Here is how to prepare a profitable campaign for your small business without giving away your margin.
Black Friday 2026 para pequeños negocios: guía para preparar tu campaña

Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday on Monday 30. Although officially they are two days, in reality many brands stretch their offers over the whole week (or the whole month). If you have a small business, the question is not whether to take part, but how to do it without losing money or wearing out your brand.

In this guide we explain how to prepare a smart Black Friday campaign: what to offer, when to start, what to check on your website and how to communicate it.

1. Decide whether it makes sense for you to take part (and how)

Not every business needs aggressive discounts. First of all, review your margins and think about what kind of customer you want to attract. Here are some alternatives to the classic “50% off”:

  • Bundles or passes: group products or sessions at a special price (for example, a 10-class pass).
  • A gift with purchase: add value without lowering the price.
  • An exclusive perk for your community: early access for newsletter subscribers or social media followers.
  • Gift cards: perfect for bringing Christmas sales forward.
  • A cause: donating a percentage of sales also connects with your audience.

What matters is that the offer makes sense for your business and can be understood in a second.

2. Prepare a simple calendar

A Black Friday campaign works better when you build up to it. A basic calendar for a small business could look like this:

  • First half of November: define the offer, prepare the images and check your website.
  • Week of 16–22: announce that “something is coming” and encourage people to subscribe to your newsletter or WhatsApp to be the first to know.
  • 23–26: early access for your community.
  • Friday 27: the big day, with clear messages on social media, email and your website.
  • Monday 30 (Cyber Monday): last call and end of the campaign.

3. Check your website before the traffic arrives

A great offer is useless if your website doesn’t back it up. Check in particular:

  • That the website loads fast on mobile: most visits will come from there.
  • That the offer is visible as soon as people arrive, with a clear button.
  • That the form, the cart or the WhatsApp button work (test them yourself).
  • That the conditions (dates, shipping, returns) are written clearly.

If you don’t have an online shop, that’s fine: a dedicated campaign page with a form or a direct WhatsApp link can work very well for services and local businesses.

4. Use the channels you already have

During Black Friday advertising gets more expensive because every brand competes for the same attention. That is why your own channels are worth their weight in gold:

  • Email and newsletter: the channel that converts best with people who already know you. Prepare 3 or 4 sends: teaser, launch, reminder and last day.
  • Social media: posts, stories with a countdown and direct messages to answer questions.
  • Google Business Profile: publish the offer as an update so it appears on Google Maps.
  • WhatsApp: a personal message to your best customers works better than any ad.

5. If you invest in ads, do it with a plan

If you decide to invest in Google Ads or Meta Ads, start a few days earlier so the campaigns can learn, set a maximum budget and send the ads to a specific page, not your homepage. And above all: measure. Knowing how many sales or enquiries each euro generated will help you make better decisions next year.

6. After Black Friday, don’t disappear

The people who buy from you in November are your best candidates for Christmas. Thank them for their purchase, ask for a Google review and stay in touch. Black Friday is not just a day of sales: it is an opportunity to win customers who come back.

Quick Black Friday checklist

  1. Review your margins and decide what kind of offer you will make.
  2. Prepare images and copy with a clear message.
  3. Check your website on mobile and test the purchase or contact process.
  4. Schedule your emails and posts.
  5. Update your Google Business Profile.
  6. Measure the results and note them down for next year.
